My Work

My research is interdisciplinary in scope. I study the synthesis of carbon semiconductor materials, used for broadly understood sensors and biosensors, also in environmental protection as electrodes for advanced electrochemical oxidation processes of difficult to degradable compounds (landfill leachate, micro-pollutants). The synthesis of optically transparent, electrically conductive diamond electrodes allowed for the construction of a measuring system for in-situ analysis of electrode surface modification by analyzing the change in the refractive index in the Mach-Zehnder interferometer. The produced carbon materials have also been used as an energy store by producing supercapacitors. In addition, research is underway to produce opto-electrochemical fiber optic sensors based on lossy-mode resonance (LMR). Sensors are designed for ultra-sensitive detection of biological substances.

The latest research results focus on the synthesis of diamond layers in a deuterium-rich plasma. Such layers are characterized by enhanced physicochemical parameters, such as electrical conductivity, current-voltage characteristics. Currently, apart from the analysis of diamond layers synthesized in deuterium plasma, research will be carried out to construct a number of devices for ultra-sensitive measurements of electrochemical processes in micro volumes and to develop an intelligent system for removing harmful pollutants in water, such as drugs, antibiotics, hormones or dioxins that are present. in rainwater, domestic sewage.
